3 Truths the Samaritan Woman Teaches Us on the Prophetic

“The Samaritan woman said to him, ‘You are a Jew and I am a Samaritan woman. How can you ask me for a drink?” (For Jews do not associate with Samaritans.'” John 4:9

This was my judgment against Christians before I met Christ. I was against anything to do with Christianity. Back in those times, Samaritans & Jews did not care for each other, in the way I did not care for Christianity.

Then here comes Jesus, with this prophetic word about this Samaritan woman, changing her life. In His word he says:

“You are right when you say you have no husband. The fact is, you have had five husbands, and the man you now have is not your husband. What you have just said is quite true.” John 4:17-18

In this HEAVENLY ENCOUNTER, the Samaritan woman is in deep wonder, how, in just three sentences, it seems this man knew everything about her when she revealed only one small detail of her life. He keeps her intrigued, and reveals He is the Messiah. This is an example of the daily interaction Jesus wants to have with each and everyone of us. This is what He knows about each of us when we press into receiving a prophetic word. This is what we all have in common:

1) We all felt rejected at one point.

During a time when people frowned upon philandering women, Jesus spoke to the Samaritan woman without so much a blink. He’s aware we have failed in our lives, whether through relationships or our jobs. The Samaritan woman was rejected by 5 men! He knows we have felt rejection in our hearts, but here He was, presenting to this woman redemption and hope through a prophetic word. Jesus will NEVER reject us.

2) We are all thirsty or hungry.

“Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life.” John 4:13-14

The water in which he spoke of was through His Spirit which gifts us with hearing His voice prophetically. The fact is, we are all thirsty & hungry for answers. Some may fulfill the hunger & thirst everywhere else besides Jesus. Jesus is the only way our thirst & hunger will be fulfilled eternally. God desires to gift us unique & specific words for our lives. The words in which He spoke to the Samaritan woman were unique and specific to her. Just like when God told me two years ago, I am to be a writer (and here I am writing), those words were unique & specific to me. Those words gave me hope and fulfillment.

3) We can’t wait to share the good news!

After being blessed by the Messiah, the Samaritan woman couldn’t help but to share her testimony with the WHOLE town!

“Many of the Samaritans from that town believed in him because of the woman’s testimony, ‘He told me everything I ever did.'” John 4:39

When we receive a specific word about our lives, we begin a process of healing. The Samaritan woman was rejected by men, but here is yet another man…only this man is different. This man, who declaring to be the Messiah embraced her, regardless of her heritage or background, gave her a sense of hope and purpose. No longer did she carry shame from her past. Her purpose was to spread the good news!

God placed a word in my heart about a girlfriend who I haven’t spoken to in a couple years. Little did I know, she was fasting to get some answers. I received a download and told her she was suppose to get into real estate. I found out she had taken real estate classes, but never pursued it. The simple download gave her peace & purpose, and now she is more hungry and thirsty for God than ever!

Would you like to be blessed by a prophetic word just like Jesus blessed this woman with a prophetic word? Stay tuned! I will be launching a course and coaching series that will blow your mind!
